TUKD vs Vedder LightTuck: Honest Kydex Holster Comparison
If you carry a Glock 19, a Sig P365, or any of the most carried pistols in America, you have probably looked at both TUKD and Vedder. Both companies make Kydex IWB holsters at a similar price point. Both have a following. Both will conceal your gun.
So how do you pick?
This page lays out the differences in plain English. We made TUKD. We are biased. But the comparison below is fair and the facts are checkable.
The Quick Answer
Pick TUKD ORIGIN if you want a hand formed shell with pre tuned retention, a lifetime warranty on shells and hardware, and the ability to message the founder directly when you have a question.
Pick Vedder LightTuck if you want a holster with adjustable retention screws, a long brand history, and a pure mail order experience.
Neither is wrong. They optimize for different carriers.
What Each One Gets Right
TUKD ORIGIN gets right:
Hand forming. Every TUKD shell is heated, formed around a steel mold of the gun, and cooled under pressure. We do not share molds across guns. A Glock 17 mold makes a Glock 17 holster. A Glock 19 mold makes a Glock 19 holster. Even where dimensions are close, we form each separately. This matters for retention consistency.
Pre tuned retention. There are no screws to adjust on a TUKD ORIGIN. We retention test every shell at the workshop before it ships. The shell holds the gun where you put it on every draw. If your retention ever changes after months of carry, message us and we will adjust at no cost.
Made in Las Vegas. Every shell is hand formed and finished by Josh and the team at our Vegas workshop. Not contract manufactured. Not drop shipped. The same person who molded your shell ran your retention check.
Lifetime warranty on shells and hardware. Break it, we replace it. No receipt required. We track orders by name and phone number, so reach out and we will find you.
Direct line to the founder. When you reply to a TUKD email or hit the contact form, Josh reads it. We are small enough that this is true and large enough to keep the lights on.
Vedder LightTuck gets right:
Adjustable retention screws. If you like dialing in retention yourself, the LightTuck has a Phillips screw under the trigger guard. Loosen for an easier draw, tighten for a stiffer hold.
Long product history. Vedder has been making the LightTuck for over a decade. It is a known quantity in the EDC community.
Wide gun coverage. Vedder fits a long list of pistols including some uncommon models we do not yet support.

What Both of Us Will Not Tell You
Some carriers want a soft inner pad to reduce sweat. Neither TUKD ORIGIN nor Vedder LightTuck has a soft pad. If you need a hybrid leather and Kydex holster, look elsewhere.
Both companies sell holsters. Neither sells holster training. Even the best holster will not fix a draw stroke or a sight picture. If you have not taken a concealed carry course, take one before you put any holster on your belt.
How to Decide in Under a Minute
Use the TUKD Find Your Holster picker. Pick your gun, pick your hand, pick whether you want a light. The picker tells you exactly which TUKD model fits.
For Vedder, visit Vedder's site and use their gun fit search.
If you order a TUKD and decide it is not for you, message us. Lifetime warranty includes our willingness to make it right.
