The Glock 43X solved a problem. It gave you a slim, single-stack-width frame with a 10-round magazine and a full-length grip. For a lot of carriers it is the gun that finally made appendix carry comfortable. The holster has to keep that promise.
This is a guide to picking the right holster for the Glock 43X and 43X MOS, from a Kydex maker that carries one.
The Short Answer
For a Glock 43X carried appendix or strong side, you want a slim non light Kydex IWB holster with pre tuned retention and a clip that holds position. The TUKD ORIGIN for Glock fits the 43X and the 43X MOS. Pick your model at checkout.
The 43X is already a concealment focused gun. The wrong holster, bulky or soft or badly clipped, undoes the work Glock did to slim the frame. The right holster disappears.
Why the 43X Is Different
The 43X sits between the subcompact 43 and the compact 19. The grip is full length, so you get a full firing grip, but the frame is slim width. That combination is why it conceals well and shoots better than its size suggests.
Two things about the 43X matter for holster fit:
- The slim width lets the shell sit very close to your body. A holster that respects that width keeps the gun flat against you. A holster molded loose adds bulk the gun itself does not have.
- The 43X MOS has an optic cut. If you run a red dot, the holster needs clearance for the optic and the taller sight picture.
What to Look For in a 43X Holster
- Pre tuned retention. The 43X is light. A holster with retention set too loose will not hold a light gun securely. The TUKD ORIGIN is retention tested at the workshop bench before it ships, no screws to adjust.
- Hand beveled edges. A slim gun rides close, which means the shell edge sits against your skin more directly. Sharp edges bite. We bevel every edge by hand.
- A clip that holds. A 43X is easy to conceal until the holster shifts on your belt. A steel clip rated for belt cycling keeps the rig where you put it.
- Slim profile. The whole point of a 43X is width. Do not give it back with a fat holster.
Appendix or Strong Side
The 43X is one of the best guns made for appendix carry. The slim frame and full grip make it comfortable at the 1 o'clock position for most body types.
The TUKD ORIGIN for Glock is optimized for appendix (AIWB) and adjustable for strong side via the clip mount. If you are deciding between positions, our guide on appendix carry vs strong side walks through the trade offs. For the IWB vs OWB decision, see IWB vs OWB holster.
Concealment
The 43X conceals under a t shirt for most carriers. The grip is the part that prints, so a holster that pulls the grip in toward your body matters. A claw or wedge attachment helps further.
Under a polo or untucked button down, a 43X in a slim Kydex IWB holster disappears completely.
43X MOS and Optics
If you carry the 43X MOS with a red dot, confirm optic clearance. The TUKD ORIGIN shell is cut for most slide mounted red dots including RMR, Holosun 507 series, and Romeo footprint. The taller sight picture clears the shell mouth without interference.
Break In
Every Kydex holster settles in over the first week of carry. The 43X shell is no different. Dry practice 20 to 30 draws a day for a week and the retention settles to its steady state. Our guide on how to break in a Kydex holster covers the full process.
